Self Affirmed Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Self Affirmed ("the App") handles information.

Information Collection and Use

The App does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal information. Your recorded affirmations, categories, and settings stay on your device and are never sent to the developer or any third party.

Specifically:

The App does not require an account or sign-in
The App does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or identifiers
The App does not track you across apps or websites
The App does not upload, back up, or share your recordings anywhere on its own
The App does not contain analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks of any kind

Microphone, Speech Recognition, and Apple Health Access

Because Self Affirmed is a voice-recording app, it asks your permission to use certain features of your device. Each is used only to provide a function you have chosen:

Microphone — used to record affirmations in your own voice. Recordings are captured and stored entirely on your device.
Speech Recognition — optional. If you allow it, your spoken words are transcribed so each recording can be titled with what you said. Transcription is performed on your device when your device supports it; otherwise it is processed by Apple's speech recognition service as described in the system permission prompt. The developer never receives your audio or its transcription. If you decline, recording still works and you simply type the title yourself.
Apple Health — optional, and off by default. If you enable "Log mindful minutes" in Settings, the App writes your completed listening sessions to Apple Health as Mindfulness entries. The App only writes this data; it never reads your health data. Health data is never used for advertising or shared with anyone, and you can revoke this access at any time in the Health app.

Network Access

The App has no servers of its own and never sends your recordings or personal data over the internet. It makes network connections for only two purposes: processing purchases through Apple's App Store, and Apple's speech recognition service when on-device transcription is not available. Both are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Purchases

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase, which is processed entirely by Apple. The developer never sees or stores your payment information. Purchases can be restored through Apple on any of your devices.

Data Storage

The affirmations you record, the categories you create, and your app preferences are stored locally on your device. They remain entirely under your control and are removed if you delete the App. The developer has no access to this data. The App's home screen widget displays your affirmation text using storage shared only between the App and its widget on your device.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If the App's functionality changes in a way that affects privacy, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. Any updates will be reflected by revising the "Last updated" date above.
