This Privacy Policy describes how Coming Up ("the App"), for iPhone and Apple Watch, handles information. In short: everything you put into the App stays on your own devices.
Information Collection and Use
The App does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal information on behalf of the developer. The events, photos, and settings you add stay on your own iPhone and Apple Watch and are never sent to the developer or any third party.
Specifically:
- The App does not require an account or sign-in
- The App does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, location, or identifiers
- The App does not track you across apps or websites
- The App does not upload, back up, or share your events or photos anywhere
- The App does not contain analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks of any kind
- The App is free and has no in-app purchases or subscriptions
Your Events
The events you create, including their names, dates, emoji, categories, notes, colors, and reminder choices, are stored only on your iPhone and Apple Watch, in a storage area private to the App and its widgets.
Photos
If you choose to give an event a photo, you pick it with the system photo picker. The App receives only the photo you select; it does not request access to your photo library and cannot see any other photos. The App saves resized copies of the chosen photo on your devices to show it in the App, in widgets, and on your Apple Watch. These copies are deleted when you remove the photo or delete the event.
iPhone and Apple Watch
The iPhone app sends your events, and small copies of any event photos, directly to the Coming Up app on your paired Apple Watch, using Apple's built-in connection between your own devices. Events you add or change on your watch are sent back to your iPhone the same way. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
Widgets, Complications, and Live Activities
Widgets, watch-face complications, and Live Activities show your events on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, Dynamic Island, and watch face. They read your events from your device and display them there; nothing is sent to a server.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the App reminds you of events at the times you choose. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent to or from a server.
Network Access
The App makes no network connections whatsoever. It never sends or receives data over the internet.
Data Storage and Deletion
All of the App's data lives on your devices and is not accessible to the developer. You can delete any event at any time, and deleting the App removes everything it stored.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
If the App's functionality changes in a way that affects privacy, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. Any updates will be reflected by revising the "Last updated" date above.
